Elevating Supervisor Safety Excellence
Elevating Supervisor Safety Excellence
April 1, 2025, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM (MT)
In a world where the allure of being a 'Maverick' is undeniable, it's crucial to recognize that when it comes to occupational health and safety, being a daring risk-taker isn't always the best approach.
WHAT IS THIS PARTICULAR SESSION ABOUT?
Attention, Top Guns! Get ready to soar to new heights as we take you on a mission that's all about being the best of the best in Occupational Health and Safety.
In this adrenaline-pumping adventure, we'll dive into four critical areas that separate the top guns from the rest: an understanding of legal responsibilities and liabilities, the internal responsibility system, the difference between mere compliance and full-blown commitment to the mission, and what it takes to truly master due diligence. And just like any Top Gun adventure, we'll pepper our briefing with real-life examples, straight from our practice and the case law archives. You'll see these principles in action.
Just like Maverick in the cockpit, our participants are leaders in their fields, but they also understand the paramount importance of safety and compliance. By enrolling in this webinar, you'll gain the skills and knowledge needed to become a true 'Top Gun' in the world of occupational health and safety, leading your team with confidence and ensuring the safety and well-being of your workforce.

Given our practice, many of the examples used in the series will come from Alberta, but the underlying principles and concepts that are discussed are applicable on a national scale.
WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE THIS WEBINAR SERIES?
It's different. And we’re different. We aren't going to talk at you, pretend we know everything there is to know about you, your people, or your business, or try to convince you that a stock, recycled presentation is really going to address the issues that are important to you. We understand the bigger picture. And that’s why we want to talk to you, get to know you, and work with you, to create an experience that will actually provide you with recognizable value. It’s why the first half of our sessions are committed to sharing our experience, and the latter half to engaging directly with you, and answering your questions.
With the facilitator's background as a former OH&S Crown Prosecutor, you’ll be privy to a unique perspective, insight, and tips (typically only shared with large institutional clients), that will enable you to truly understand the nuances that exist within the OH&S regulatory regime, and "how to" successfully navigate through them.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO WALK AWAY WITH?
In simple terms? The information that we wish you knew, before you or your organization need to retain us.
Unlike webinars of a more general focus, our topics have been specially selected to address what we see as key misunderstandings, shortcomings, and areas of concern, among supervisors, executives, and business owners. Our goal is to explore these issues with you, in an effort to minimize your individual and organizational exposure, by giving you the tools you need to critically assess your thought processes and work environments, before an incident takes place.
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:
As a former OH&S Crown Prosecutor, Christopher Spasoff is one of only a handful of lawyers with experience on both sides of the OH&S regulatory regime.
Often sought out for his practical, easy-to-understand advice and common sense approach to problem solving, Christopher left the Crown in May 2014 to establish F2 Legal Counsel, the first and only law firm in Alberta exclusively dedicated to the practice of occupational health and safety law. As an advisor to both employers and workers on a variety of OH&S issues, Christopher is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience whenever possible.
