It’s Friday Morning Muster. But Not!
For years now, Friday Morning Muster has been a place where safety professionals, supervisors, and frontline leaders gather to explore real-world OHS issues through a legal lens. With each muster regularly drawing over 100 attendees, it’s clear that these discussions are making an impact. But here’s the thing! Most of the people who need to hear these conversations aren’t logging in. They’re out in the field, on the shop floor, or gearing up for the day’s work.
That’s why we’re taking Friday Morning Muster on the road, with “Tailgate Talks”, a new spin on our weekly series, designed specifically to bring the magic of our muster to your entire team!
We’ll virtually join your crew’s morning meeting for a live, interactive, 15-minute session focused on something that can make or break a safe workday: Field-Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs).
We all know that FLHAs are more than just a box to check. Indeed, they’re the frontline defense against incidents! But let’s be real: too often, FLHAs are rushed, done on autopilot, or viewed as a paperwork exercise. The goal of this session is to break that mindset, by explaining, in practical terms, the interplay between what the Crown needs to prove for a conviction, in general terms, and the defence that a properly completed hazard assessment provides.
This isn’t just another safety meeting. It’s a chance for your team to hear directly from an OHS lawyer about how their actions on the ground, and their completion of hazard assessments more generally, tie into the bigger picture of workplace safety, liability, and compliance.
